The Useless Pen

In a small drawer, there lived a pen.
It had run out of ink years ago. It couldn't write, couldn't sign, couldn't draw a heart. The owner almost threw it away many times, but didn't.
Because that pen was the one she used to pass her final exam.
The one her father gave her on her first day of work. The one that wrote her first love letter.
One day her daughter asked, "Mama, why do you keep a pen that doesn't work?"
She smiled and said, "Because not everything useful has to work. Some things just have to remind you who you were."
The pen never wrote again. But it never stopped being important.
