Camilo Duran Brace Powers Celtic to a 3-0 Win
Camilo Duran scored two goals as Celtic cruised to a 3-0 win over LASK at Celtic Park on Wednesday in the first leg of their Champions League play-off tie.
Benjamin Nygren got the scoring started in the first half with a brilliant strike from outside the box. Duran then made it 2-0 soon after with a powerfulvolley beforee sealing the win late on with a low shot across the LASK goalkeeper.
Former Celtic striker Scott Brown was full of praise for Duran’s opening goal, describing it as a brilliant volley into the top corner that no goalkeeper would have stopped. Former England goalkeeper Joe Hart also highlighted Duran’s balance and technique, saying he got his foot through the ball superbly for a top-class finish.
LASK had two first-half efforts from Kelvin Yeboah and Ibrahim Adeniran ruled out, but they never quite found a way back into the game. Celtic were in control for long periods and took charge from the start of the second half.
The result leaves Celtic in a strong position ahead of next Tuesday’s second leg at LASK’s home ground in Linz. A win or even a draw in Austria would be enough to send Celtic into the Champions League group stage for the new season.
Celtic have made a perfect start to the 2026-27 season, winning all three of their opening Scottish Premiership matches. Summer arrivals Kasper Hogh and Duran have both already chipped in with goals early in the campaign.
