In Iztapalapa, Mexico City, a yellow house has appeared where an empty lot once stood. Nobody knows where it came from. Nobody who enters seems particularly eager to leave.
Lucero has been mourning her husband for three years when she discovers it. Inside, the air is warm, the rooms are quiet, and a woman folding already-folded laundry tells her she can stay as long as she needs.
There is no rent. No urgency. No reason to go back to the world outside.
But the house has its own rhythms. The baths leave Lucero strangely light. Her memories begin to blur. Other residents disappear, leaving behind rooms that smell faintly of something sweet.…
