Out of Kilter
Out of Kilter
Out of Kilter
It's not worth quibbling over
what they propagate and assert holds water;
it's tantamount to a nation out of kilter,
leaving us flummoxed,
helter-skelter.
The law against them
merely dawdles and ambles
toward dismissal—
no need to clamber.
Their desires dart and hurtle,
slinking and vaulting over;
swift as lightning without thunder.
That is how they lunge,
scuttle, and sashay—
as we plod despondently—
solely in a mosey.

Balance in Five Minutes
Balance in Five Minutes
“Virtue is nothing else than right reason.” — Seneca 🌺🌿

Dear Reader,
Have you tried this five-minute daily habit inspired by Ma’at, the ancient Egyptian principle of balance? Look around, find three things that need clearing, and put each one back where it belongs.
It’s a small ritual, but taking care of a few little tasks can make the day feel calmer and more balanced.
Happy weekend!

The Great Lunch Delay
The Great Lunch Delay
“Patience and time do more than strength or passion.” — Jean de La Fontaine

Patience helps while one waits. Look at all the chores I've done! Breakfast bananas: finished. Dishes: done. Advanced lunch order: paid. Mandarin-cracker desserts: made. Amber’s orders: delivered.
Three hours later - past one o' clock, lunch finally arrived - and the mystery was solved: the kitchen had run out of cooking gas! Mum still insisted on waiting. Fish paired with bitter gourd is worth the wait. Thanks to the chef for coming through in the end!
