Nyx's Mirror
You looked into the mirror. Now it is looking back, and it says you are owed.
Three months after Delos, the mirror is safe. Locked behind glass. Explained. Admired.
Then, at 02:15 one night, the eye vanishes from a sealed, alarmed gallery in Athens. The dome is gone. The lock is untouched. And on the security footage, for one single frame, something stands at the pedestal. Something made of the gallery itself, with nothing where its face should be.
In the museum vault lies a black panel that no one has dared to catalogue. For six months it has shown nothing. Now there is a face beneath the glass. And as Dr Elena Voss watches, it opens its eyes and speaks to her in a language dead for four thousand years:
“You looked into the whole mirror, daughter of Voss. You are seen. And you are owed.”
Her reflection has started appearing where it should not. A sealed intelligence file holds the truth about her father’s death. And an ancient ledger is coming due, one that will take Elena five thousand metres down, to the black floor of the deepest sea in the Mediterranean, where a wall of glass stands in the dark with a door in it.
The door is open.
Nyx’s Mirror is Book Two of the Shadows of Primordia series. Darker, deeper and more frightening than Book One, it is cosmic horror rooted in the oldest myths of Greece.
