Mexican zoologist, writer and naturalist Andrés Cota is author of several books about unusual animals, strange places and nature writing. His most recent book is now out an about with Penguin Random House (Mexico, Spain, Colombia, 2025) and his memoir Fieras Familiares was Asteroide Books nonfiction prize finalist (Spain, 2022 and translated to French and German). His texts, that merge science, literature and humor in a rich narrative, have appeared in several collections of essays and international magazines and currently he is working on a couple of audiobook projects. A Biologist with a MSc in Science Communication at Imperial College (CONACyT grant), he’s been a fellow of the National Artist’s Network (2018-2021) and a TEDx speaker. He teaches literature at Escuela Superior de Cine, hosts the podcast Masaje Cerebral and the TV show of Revista de la Universidad, he is the Anonymous Scientist Society founder (with chapters in 25 cities in México) and is creating the Mexican Nature Literature Festival.
