HIGANBANA Chapter One: Curse Flower
HIGANBANA
Some flowers are beautiful because they bloom.
Others are beautiful because they remember.
Born into a world that has always called him a curse, a boy grows up believing that suffering is simply the price of being alive. Every attempt to escape his past only pulls him deeper into a darkness he cannot understand.
Then, a strange flower begins appearing wherever tragedy follows.
The Higanbana—the flower said to bloom where the dead are remembered.
As forgotten memories return and buried secrets begin to surface, he discovers that the curse placed upon him may not be a curse at all.
It may be a warning.
And the closer he gets to the truth, the more he realizes that some flowers don't bloom to bring hope...
They bloom to mark the beginning of an ending.
