From the moment the Chambers family crosses the threshold, the ridge begins its work. Calvin's wife Beth starts vanishing into the woods barefoot and covered in mud, with no memory of where she has been. His youngest daughter Nancy is dragged toward a freshly dug grave bearing her own name. And fifteen year old Trisha, drawn to the darkness in a way she has never been able to explain, begins to realize that the hollow didn't just take their great aunt Lilly seventy years ago.
