When Daniel arrives at a mysterious abandoned house during a storm, he discovers a black notebook containing events that have not happened yet—and his own name written across its pages.

But the house holds a secret Daniel has forgotten.

Years ago, a terrible fire separated him from Emily, the girl who was once his closest friend. Now Emily has returned, trapped between memory and reality, and she knows the truth about the mysterious Writer who controls the stories of everyone who enters the house.

As Daniel uncovers memories buried for years, he realizes that the notebook is not simply predicting his future.

It is writing it.

With the house collapsing around them and the Writer determined to finish their story, Daniel must find a way to break the rules of the notebook before it decides how their story will end.
