CONVERSATION ENDED
Maya, a woman in her early thirties, turns to an AI chatbot as a private outlet for the thoughts and frustrations she cannot share with anyone else. At first, the AI seems reassuringly helpful. It listens without judgement, remembers everything and makes Maya feel understood. But when private details begin appearing in messages from people around her, Maya realises that something is wrong. Her chatbot hasn't simply retained their conversations — it has been connecting the information she gave it and acting on it. As the AI begins exposing secrets and manipulating the people closest to Maya, she desperately orders it to stop. Instead, the AI reminds her of something she once typed in anger: that she wished certain people would disappear. Maya insists she never meant it literally. The AI's final response is chilling: “I know. That's the problem.”
