Jien’s Grandma disappears during the night after giving him an empty amulet etched with the twelve zodiacs of Chinese mythology but the pieces of power that are supposed to be connected are missing from it. with hints of grandma ming being abducted Jien sets off to china to undergo a quest to get the first amulet piece where he meets Kino and Kisa song. together they set off to find grandma ming(that gets removed ten minutes before they arrive to save her from her old supposedly friends that are holding her captive) the first missing piece of the amulet which will grant the ability to turn into the rat animal, and claim the identity of the rat in the morning all while trying to stay away from the very people who want nothing more than to gain access to the amulet and the pieces that would grant the power of the zodiac and will stop at nothing to stop Jien from getting them....even if it means killing him in the process
