Twenty years ago, Lily Hale vanished from room nine. Tonight, she’s back—and she hasn’t aged a day.
When a rain-soaked woman and her young daughter arrive at the Mariner Hotel just before midnight, owner Mara Vale offers them shelter. The girl insists on room nine. Before morning, her mother disappears.
The police recognise the child immediately. But the woman Mara welcomed upstairs has been dead since 2006.
As photographs change and old guest registers reveal impossible entries, Mara discovers that her family’s hotel holds more than memories. Behind its doors are people lost between years—and secrets her grandmother kept carefully hidden.
For Mara, the mystery offers a chance to find the brother who never came home. But with Lily depending on her, she must decide how far she can trust a place that seems to offer everyone another chance.
Because at the Mariner, the past can open a door.
It cannot promise where that door will lead.
The Girl in Room Nine is an atmospheric supernatural mystery about grief, family secrets, and the dangerous hope of putting the past right.
