When six-year-old Lily disappears from a quiet park, Sarah and Daniel are left with the kind of grief that changes everything.
Days become weeks. Hope gives way to desperation. Then, beneath an ordinary tree, Sarah finds a stranger who offers her the one thing she would give anything to have.
Her daughter.
But nothing is given freely.
Lily comes home exactly as Sarah remembers her. She looks the same. She speaks the same. She knows the same things.
At first, Sarah believes she has been given a miracle.
Then the memories begin to disappear.
